We are pleased to announce that Tonstad Vindpark completed its construction phase and started commercial operation on 29 July 2020.
Initially developed by Norwegian firm Havgul Clean Energy AS, which received a concession from the Norwegian authorities, the project was purchased in 2015 and further developed by Engie and SUSI Partners. The wind farm with 51 SiemensGamesa turbines was constructed starting spring 2018 and completed in summer 2020. At 208MW installed capacity, Tonstad Vindpark is estimated to generate close to 700GWh of clean energy annually. Norsk Hydro will purchase all electricity generated through a power purchase agreement, and will also operate and maintain the wind farm.
